Virginia Nursing Home Sued Over the Death of a Patient
The son of a former nursing home patient filed a lawsuit against the health care providers, alleging they caused his mother’s death.
According to the lawsuit, the nursing home failed to discharge their obligation of care to the plaintiff’s mother while she was in their care. The plaintiff cites various health and safety regulation that were charged against the nursing home right before his mother was admitted into residency. The lawsuit lists numerous injuries to the decedent, including bruises, weight loss, pneumonia, and sepsis, to name a few.
This current lawsuit is just one of many filed against Virginia nursing homes, after a state-wide investigation uncovered many state law violations. The plaintiff seeks compensatory and punitive damages against the nursing home.
