Crossing Guard Sues Man For Injuries
A Wisconsin woman injured in a traffic accident while she worked as a crossing guard in 2007 is suing the driver of the car that struck her. According to the lawsuit, the woman was in uniform and in the cross walk at a busy intersection, when the defendant hit her. The defendant had stopped at a stop sign and was blowing into a car ignition locking device when his car plowed into the plaintiff. The accident report does not indicate why the defendant was blowing into the ignition lock device when he was already operating the vehicle. The ignition interlock device was installed as part of his sentence for his third conviction of operating while intoxicated. The woman and her insurance company are seeking unspecified compensation.
