Illinois Nursing Home Sued for Elder Abuse for the Third Time

A lawsuit was filed on Friday on behalf of Ms. Barabara Snyder, alleging staff failed to halt abuse she endured while a resident of a La Salle County nursing home. Attorneys for Ms. Snyder seek no less than $100,000 from the nursing home for failing to protect the 81-year-old woman, now deceased, from a male resident with a history of sexual misconduct.

“For the family it was a very egregious situation to have a loved one exposed to the kind of behavior that was apparently tolerated as to the male client who was involved in these incidents,” Attorneys for Ms. Snyder said.

The lawsuit on behalf of Ms. Snyder is the third lawsuit filed against the same nursing home, with more lawsuits expected after it was revealed that 10 female residents, most suffering from some form of dementia, were abused or targeted for abuse by a male resident with a history of sexual misconduct.
